Happy Easter and happy celebrations of one of the biggest gifts given to humanity through the death and resurrection of Jesus: Freedom.
Freedom, just like love, can be a difficult concept to grasp.
Forget not the earth delights
To feel your bare feet
And the winds long
To play with your hair.
Kahlil Gibran
I grew up in an area in Germany blessed with large forrests. The house of my parents was on a hill overlooking the town. At the back of the garden was a gate, which took us straight into the woods, the home of deer, wild bore and other creatures. ‘Let’s take a walk in nature’, my parents used to say, and off we went.
From an early age onwards I learnt to separate the trees, animals, the moon, stars and the sun into them and us human beings. Looking back I realize that this division left me feeling insecure and empty somehow like a tree without roots. Much later in life I discovered the connectedness of everything that is nature. It took me a while to understand that I am nature, wild and untamable, full of yet unexplored potential. This realization set me free. My soul developed imaginary roots, which grew into the centre of the earth while my faith in the God who had created me wild and untamable developed into a majestic tree with golden branches and shimmering leaves. More and more I began to take responsibility for precious God given potential, as I broke free from social conditioning. I excavated the true me, wild and untamamble guided by divine love teaching me to embrace the freedom available to every human being.
Therefore, Good Friday and Easter are increasingly important, transformative and life-giving events in my life. More and more I adore the wildness and untamable nature of God defying death and allowing unhealthy social structures to dissolve.
Freedom is like a breath of fresh celestial air. Consciously breathing this divine freedom is a choice.
Sending you warmth from my soul to yours
