Newsletter – We are the People

Paradise of the soul - header Feb 2017w

The older I become the more excited I am about feeling alive. As I am writing this my excitement about being a world citizen on Planet Earth gives me goose bumps. It was not always like this. There were times when I dreaded getting out of bed in the morning, exhausted, anxious, not knowing how to cope with the work load set before me. My diary was very ‘heavy’. I could have done with a fork lift truck to carry it around with me.… One day off after a busy week was simply not enough to recover. Today I question the management of human resources. And as for me taking the responsibility for my own well being I realise that I should have jumped off the band wagon much earlier. I just didn’t know how to.

Sometimes in life we are sucked onto a human conveyor belt at work and/or in our private lives with seemingly no way to jump off. Worst of all is that society/organisations somehow support this type of suffering and even call it LOVE. Adults close their eyes to their painful reality often out of fear of change, so conditioned by society. Choosing denial though strangles the life out of their own souls, burying valuable potential. While adults neglect themselves innocent children suffer.  This is a vicious circle far too often ignored.

And yet, we are the people who have been placed into this world to run the planet well. We all are equipped with amazing gifts, which long to be explored, expressed and experienced during a life time. We are the people, the incredibly soul rich and very exciting human race our world needs to evolve.

Social conditioning, however, stops many people in their tracks, disrupts the flow of necessary change and growth. The human conveyor belt called ‘Survival’ is full of unhappy people stuck in marriages, families and work places, unheard, unloved, frustrated, neglected, mistreated… unacknowledged suffering galore. The carpet under which denial is swept is so thick that we trip ourselves up and fall. Then we get up again telling ourselves that it is not that bad. I have been there, ‘worn the T-shirt, starred in that film’. Why? I wasn’t a good listener to my own voice within.
We are the people who make life happen on this planet. We have been given the privilege and also the gift to live here. With privilege though comes the responsibility to care for ourselves, fellow human beings and nature. This makes each one of us a world leader.
‘Being a good listener is absolutely critical to being a good leader;
you have to listen to the people who are on the front line.’

Richard Branson
I wholeheartedly agree with Richard Branson. We need to listen to the song of our own souls as each one of us plays an important role. We are the people in the front line. Our world can become more and more magical by listening to ourselves and others.
We are the people who give ourselves and each other wings for the benefit of Planet Earth. How exciting is this?
